The GUM
Just in front of the Kremlin walls, there is a long building of GUM.  GUM is an abbreviation for a state department store.  Actually built as a store in 1893, this building was called Upper Trade Rows.  It was the biggest store in Russia before the revolution, and the most popular after.

Central Universal Department Store is one of the most renowned department stores in Moscow. It belongs to the most fashionable and trendy places in the city and is the largest fashion department store in Eastern Europe.
